Also! I began the Great Culling of Stuff. There are two boxes of goodies free for the asking: one contains many awesome books (Terry Pratchett is heavily represented because most of his books are now available for the Kindle, which is sweet) and the other is full of random randoms. Random randoms include, but are not limited to, posters (Japanese and otherwise), mini-swords, statue-y frogs, and cork houses in glass boxes. There are also four Items of Storage. IoS are things I want to keep, but can't take with me, so they have to be somewhere until my wandering stage is over... so if you want to make sure that I someday track you down, you may want to display them in your home and taunt me every so often. My four IoS are actually two pairs of Raijin & Fuujin swag: a pair of beautiful, gold-threaded pictures, and a pair of awesome statues.
ALSO. I am choosing which Japanese shirts I will keep, and which I will give away. (Sorry, I'm keeping the crazy zipper skirt.) So if you maybe want a silly Japanese t-shirt or sweatshirt to treasure, you should give me a call.
Finally, Mom wants to store the majority of my paper dolls, but it may be that she can't find room for all of them. I may be updating the IoS list with, say, perhaps a lovely bride doll, or a bath-house doll. They are sugoi kirei, for serious.
I'm moving to Seattle in late August, so there's time to snoop around and see if I have something you like. Anything not taken gets donated, or maybe tossed off a cliff.

Seriously, though. My aunt needs help with the kids, and I get $400 a month plus room/board/car. So, yeah, totally going for it. Plus, I get to see Seattle! I'm leaving in late August, so there's plenty of time yet for me to procrastinate on getting all the important stuff done...
Let me know when you have time to check out the boxes! There should be another box of books eventually; I think it's hidden in my sister's attic.
Also, yup, wandering the world for a bit longer... and if I do end up back in Japan or in South Korea, or in any other place you would like to visit, you are always welcome at my place!

Will you be back in WI for the holidays?
I would offer to house your 'IoS' but I don't know how well I will trust the movers who crate our stuff up and ship it back to the states.
Seattle drivers scare me. Them and their 10 lane highway and their 5'o'clock accident report.
But they have a mountain.

Don't worry 'bout the IoS; someone's already laying claim to them, heheh. Um, but I will give you first dibs if you want three Japanese textbooks and a Japanese dictionary, since I will not be able to see you. The texts are Genki 1 and 2, and Intermediate Japanese (scary scary book). They're pretty good at teaching basics of grammar and basic kanji, and you can get pronunciation and slang from anime. If you want them, I'll ask Becky to hold onto them for you.
I will be a Seattle driver! I will tear out all my hair.

That would be cool. Dave's on this "I want to learn Japanese by next year" thing right now. He keeps talking about getting one of them Rosetta Stone thingers.
When you come back bald, I will know why.
Just hope that you don't have to get on that road too often lol. I think we were there for like three days and every single day there was a pile up by 5pm. I was thankful the last time we drove it we were in a taxi. At least he was familiar with the city. Hell he spent so much time rambling off city history that he even took us to the wrong hotel.

I will be on the road every single school day, taking the kids there and picking them up at the end of the day. It is my doom. I have to get my WA driving license first thing.
Tropicana has a new "pure" juice. I can't stop drinking the pomegranate blueberry.

Wow, now that is awesome. Utterly awesome. So far away, but awesome. And not as far as Japan, I guess.
Although, South Korea... that could be very pretty! I may have to take you up on that one one of these days... I think there is a very large anime convention I'd like to own at in Seattle
