Good news, bad news, what news?

We survived.

Halloween parties were canceled, trick-or-treaters were few, and Greg chickened out in the middle of "the Shining."

: (

I just applied to be a tutor.

Unlimited VIII, and dilemma!

Tue Oct 6, 2009, 10:32 AM
I got an email from my aunt's fanclub. The Italian one. Srsly. And then for a moment I thought she'd dyed her hair blonde, but then I realized she was wearing the hood of her sweater in the oh so artsy picture.

(I'm on her fanclub's list because I stole her email from her fansite once. XD )

ANYWAY! Guys! "Unseen Academicals" is out, and I bought it! For the Kindle! It's sitting in there RIGHT NOW and I am anticipating it.

XD XD XD XD XD XD XD

Also I baked some cookies.

But now for THE DILEMMA. My 6 year-old cousin wants to learn to play the piano. See, the 9 year-old takes lessons (grudgingly (are there a lot of g's in that word, or is it just me?)) and I play piano, so SHE wants to play, too. Only she wants me to teach her.

I am already her private tutor (fights over spelling are EPIC), and she has ballet classes (which she adores) and Mandarin lessons (which she hates, but her mom thinks are super important (this is her helicopter side coming out)). I taught her to play "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" in the poke-your-finger-at-a-key way. It took her three days to learn the first, and one night to learn the second. She's good. She likes music. I can teach her simple stuff without putting too much work into it.

I just don't know that I want to.

I'm not a piano teacher. I don't remember half the stuff I learned. And she's GOOD. She would do well in regular lessons. She just doesn't have time for regular lessons. Did I forget to mention she plays soccer on Saturdays? And her mom and dad share custody? And we seriously have FIGHTS over spelling?

And I don't WANT to fight over music. I love the piano. I have to, seeing as I still play. Mom's sending me my music in the mail. But I agreed to teach her the little songs and she's so excited about lessons and she actually sat there for an hour and played the stupid little song and learned how to identify keys even though I wasn't particularly patient and and and.
